Sondra+Danny=Faith

Steadfast. Unshakable. True. That is the faith Sondra & Danny have in each other, in their shared beliefs, in the power of their love & the promise of their future together.

And it was so inspiring to share in it and document their connection during their San Diego engagement session, their Scottsdale YOU+ME bride & groom session, and their beautiful wedding day at Phoenix's Villa Siena.

Here are some of our favorites from their engagement session.

A little sassy.

A lot romantic.

Balboa Park is a dream to photograph at. Here's a few spreads from their Guest Book.

Then it was off to the beach! California boy Danny proposed to small-town BC (Lillooet, to be exact!) girl Sondra on the sand in the sunshine so of course we had to go down to the ocean!

Tilt-shift loveliness.

Palm trees - the perfect frame. :)

Another of our fav Guest Book spreads with lots of open space above and below the images for guests to write their good wishes & tell these two how hot they look!

A fun couple plus that soft magic hour California light - can't beat that combo!

We had such a great time capturing their totally-connected-togetherness in San Diego. And it was just the beginning! Here's a sneak peek from Part II:

And Part III:

Check back soon to see images from their YOU+ME session and perfectly beautiful wedding day.

Ivy+Robert=Devotion

Together, they share a passion: for red wine & filet mignon, for good music (especially Robert's own bootleg mixes), for their favourite corners of the city they love, and, of course, for each other's company. When they're together, Ivy's whole face lights up as she describes their first dates & how quickly she fell head over heels for Robert; he hangs on to every word. They are completely devoted to each other and on their wedding day in NYC, they devoted themselves to enjoying every moment of it fully & completely!

It all started in NYC's storied Plaza Hotel

Fresh espresso and red-soled Louboutins makes Lynn a happy photographer:)

Ivy is one of the most energetic, fun, exuberant people I know so I could tell she was just a teensy bit nervous from how quiet she was while getting ready.

A little nervous and a lot beautiful.

Heading out for the First Look. Something about this image just says classic to me.

Surrounded by a crowd of oohing & ahhing onlookers, Robert saw his bride for the first time at Grand Central Station.

The fabulous New York photographer (and our awesome friend!) Jason Groupp captured this great moment.

Then it was a quick jaunt out on the town for a few portraits. A little rain? Bring it on - we are from Vancouver, after all :) I love this sequence at the library.

A little shelter & a little snuggling to keep warm.

Some cityscapes.

It's not a NYC wedding without some time at Central Park. The wedding party braved the cold with big smiles.

Vibrant florals.

Ivy & Robert love Central Park & did a YOU+ME Session there with us prior to their wedding. Here are just a few of our favs.

Their YOU+ME images all looked great at the couple's ceremony & reception site, whether they were in their custom Guest Book or displayed as giant prints like this one was at the entrance:

Ceremony time! And introducing the the happiest guy in the world...

I always love this moment in the ceremony.

We do.

Beautiful, happy night!

Glorious colour in the decor & lighting.

First dance.

And much more dancing throughout the night!

Congratulations, Ivy & Robert! We can't wait to see you again!

Mariza+Charlie=Intimate

When we first met Seattle couple Mariza & Charlie, we felt an instant connection. Like us, they had loved each other for many years before they decided to get married. Their love is coupled with the kind of deep understanding of each other that only comes with time, the kind that makes them exchange secret glances, say exactly what the other is thinking, and get teary-eyed about all the same things.

It was such a pleasure to photograph their small, elegant wedding. Here are some of our favourite images from the day.

The smallest details tell such interesting stories...Mariza's ring is on the bible her great-grandparents had with them when they were married in 1895.

A classically beautiful Vera Wang gown.

And the classic beauty, Mariza.

Serene before her First Look with Charlie. I love how at all that creamy tilt-shift loveliness puts all the attention on Mariza's beautiful eyes.

As the rain began, an emotional First Look between bride & groom.

Can't resist one more of Mariza.

Cold and rainy in Whistler that day, we explored their reception venue, the Four Seasons, and found all sorts of nooks and crannies to create some dramatic portraits.

My fav - that old hollywood glamour feel.

Details from the ceremony on the rooftop of the Fairmont Chateau Whistler.

The cutest and very-serious-about-his-job ringbearer.

Such a great location for a small wedding!

It's official!

The Four Seasons is known for its fine cuisine and at Mariza & Charlie's reception, guests went from room to room to enjoy different courses.

A seafood buffet in the bathtub!

A private first dance at the end of the night...

..before saying goodnight.

Congratulations Mariza & Charlie - it was such a joy to share your day with you both!
