Nicole+Brian=Style

A fun, urban couple, Nicole and Brian were a joy to photograph! Running around downtown with them, we felt like we were hanging out with good friends.

Brian waits to see Nicole for the first time...

...ready to give his bride her bouquet.

Love and laughter (in a bananalicious yellow parkade(!)).

Love the lines here - will be a BIG beautiful art canvas (750 pixels on the computer screen doesn't relate the drama quite as much as a 30x40!).

I think this is one of those images that we as photographers love, but mom and dad may be thinking, well, it's interesting, but I can't really see their faces!

Which is why we have this one too :).

The guys.

And the gals.

Brian and his best bud.

Is that little tux not just the cutest?!

The ceremony took place at UBC Boathouse.

Father daughter moment as they walk down the aisle.

Ceremony view from above - they were blessed with a perfect blue-sky day.

Nicole, a designer herself (www.kitandkaboodle.ca), had a clear vision of how she wanted her day to look, from her Japanese-inspired custom gown to the simplicity of the decor. I just loved all the details of her day ~ silky smoothly planned by the team of by Nicole & Natalie of Frog Prince Planners.

This image just makes me smile.

Married!

Congratulations!

Louise+Ben=Fabulous

From the moment I met Louise, I knew her wedding would be nothing short of fabulous! She is vivacious, fun, uber-organized, and, as Chris said after we did a whirlwind engagement session with her and Ben, one of the few people he's met who has more energy than me!

Moreover, Louise has impeccable style - she introduced us to our new fav restaurant Vij's and I am now addicted to the Jaqua Buttercream Frosting Sinfully Rich Body Butter she gave me!

So it was no surprise when she arrived for her bridal portrait session looking perfectly perfect in a stunning Romona Keveza gown & veil from I Do Bridal Salon.

Love these images of her at Hycroft

I remember during one of our conversations, Louise told me the most important thing to her on her wedding was to forget about all the million little details that went into planning it and just fully, completely, absolutely enjoy her day.

From her images at her celebration at Westwood Plateau , she and Ben did just that!

The ceremony.

The {Tiffany} blue details.

And lots and lots of love.

Chris just pointed out that I hardly wrote anything about Ben. What can I say? Genuinely kind, always calm, and pretty darn hot too:

We're looking forward to sharing some quality scotch with you guys when you get back from Cuba!

Roop+Rav=Truth.

Roop and Rav's wedding day was so rich with tradition and emotion, it's hard to know where to begin. The love these two kind and giving people have for each other and their families was tangible and we were so honoured to be there. I'll let the images tell the story.

I love the sparkle and colours of Roop's dress, shoes, and jewelry.

A quick portrait before the ceremony of the gentle, kind, and absolutely stunning Roop.

Her groom's joyous arrival at the temple.

The Sikh marriage ceremony is called the Anand Karaj, which means the blissful union between two souls.

Roop and Rav were not permitted to speak during the ceremony, but we did catch them sharing this meaningful look.

After the ceremony..singing, dancing, and celebrations!

Rav barters his way into Roop's family home to see his new wife.

After Rav enters Roop's home, there is a farewell ceremony as Roop leaves her family to join Rav's. It is an incredibly emotional ritual, made even more so by the fact that Roop will be leaving Vancouver to join Rav in Toronto.

I took this image though the window of the car - I really like how the silhouette of the contemplative Rav frames Roop's emotional goodbye to her father.

The couple then drive to Rav's family where they are greeted by his parents.

Afterwards, it's time for the party! Rav sheds his beard and Roop puts on a new outfit for the reception at the Law Courts downtown. They look so happy!

Will their love conquer the Vancouver VS Toronto rivalry?!

Let's just say the TO contingent was pretty strong.

Congratulations Roop+Rav!
